About Zakka House

Art, Character and Collectible Objects—Curated in Sydney

Founded in 2009, Zakka House is an independent Sydney-based retailer and curator of Japanese character goods, designer toys, art collectibles and distinctive objects for everyday spaces.

We began with a simple belief: the objects people choose to live with can carry meaning. A character may reconnect someone with a childhood memory. A designer toy may introduce a collector to an artist’s wider body of work. A small object on a shelf may completely change the feeling of a room.

That is why we do more than simply list products. We select objects for their design, cultural relevance, craftsmanship, character and ability to create an emotional connection.

More Than Trends

The collectible market moves quickly, but popularity alone is not our selection standard.

We consider the strength of the design, the creator or collaboration behind the product, its place within a wider series, its display presence and whether it offers something meaningful beyond short-term hype.

Not every popular release becomes culturally important, and not every worthwhile collectible begins with a queue or viral moment. Our role is to help customers see the difference.

Authenticity Matters

We understand that trust is essential when purchasing designer toys, character goods and art collectibles.

Zakka House sources products through established suppliers, distributors, brands, galleries and other professional channels. We assess product origin, packaging, markings and available documentation before offering an item for sale.

The type of packaging, documentation or certificate included varies by product. Where relevant information is available, it will be stated on the product page.

Visit by Appointment

Zakka House currently operates from an appointment-only warehouse in Sydney.

Appointments are suitable for customers who would like to inspect selected products, collect an order or discuss a particular collectible in person.

Warehouse visits must be arranged in advance. Please do not arrive without a confirmed appointment, as the warehouse is not continuously staffed as a retail shop.

Our Approach

We want customers to buy with confidence and intention.

That means providing clear information about product condition, availability, preorder status and estimated arrival dates. It also means being honest when information is uncertain, when an item is not suitable for every collector or when market popularity should not be confused with lasting value.
